Born in 1890, she created iconic characters like Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple.
Christie wrote 66 detective novels, 14 short story collections, and the world's longest-running play, The Mousetrap.
She also penned six romance novels under the pseudonym Mary Westmacott.
Christie's works have been translated into 103 languages, making her the best-selling fiction writer of all time with over two billion copies sold.
In 1971, she was made a Dame by Queen Elizabeth II for her contributions to literature.
