Anne Dufourmantelle
Anne Dufourmantelle was a French philosopher and psychoanalyst with a doctorate in philosophy from Brown University.
She taught at the UP6-la Villette School of Architecture and led a seminar at the Institute of Advanced Studies in Psychoanalysis at the École Normale Supérieure.
Dufourmantelle's work often explored themes of risk, desire, and the human condition.
Her philosophical approach was deeply intertwined with her psychoanalytic practice, creating a unique perspective on contemporary issues.
Tragically, Dufourmantelle died on July 21, 2017, while attempting to save a friend's child from drowning on a beach in southern France, embodying the very principles of risk-taking she championed in her work.
