Arthur Osborne

Maharshi Ramana Arthur was an Indian sage and jivanmukta (liberated being) who taught self-inquiry as a means to realize one's true nature.

Born Venkataraman Iyer in 1879, he experienced a profound spiritual awakening at age 16 and subsequently left home for Arunachala, a holy mountain in Tamil Nadu.

There, he spent years in meditation and silence before attracting followers who recognized his spiritual radiance.

Maharshi's teachings emphasized direct experience over intellectual understanding, encouraging seekers to investigate the nature of the self through the question "Who am I?" He remained at Arunachala until his death in 1950, leaving a lasting impact on both Eastern and Western spiritual thought.
