Ben R. Rich

Ben R. Rich was an American engineer and the second director of Lockheed's Skunk Works from 1975 to 1991.

He joined Lockheed in 1950 as a thermodynamicist and worked closely with Kelly Johnson, the founder of Skunk Works.

Rich played a crucial role in developing stealth technology and oversaw the creation of the F-117 Nighthawk stealth fighter.

He was known for his leadership skills and ability to manage complex aerospace projects.

Rich received numerous awards for his contributions to aviation, including the National Medal of Technology.

After retiring, he wrote "Skunk Works" to share his experiences and insights from his long career in aerospace engineering.
