Brandon Stanton

Brandon Stanton began Humans of New York as a photography blog in 2010 after losing his job as a bond trader in Chicago.

With a history degree from the University of Georgia, Stanton moved to New York and started photographing and interviewing strangers on the street.

His project quickly gained popularity, becoming the fastest-growing Arts and Humanities page on Facebook.

Stanton's approach of combining portraits with brief, often poignant quotes from his subjects resonated with millions of followers worldwide.
