Charles O. Jones is a distinguished scholar of American politics, serving as a Non-resident Senior Fellow at the University of Virginia's Miller Center of Public Affairs and The Brookings Institution.
Born in 1931, he earned degrees from the University of South Dakota and the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
Jones has been recognized as a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and received a Guggenheim fellowship.
His extensive contributions to the field include authoring or editing 18 books and over 100 articles and book chapters, establishing him as a leading authority on American government and politics.
