Dean Burnett

Dean Burnett is a neuroscientist, lecturer, and author based in Cardiff, Wales.

He earned his BSc and PhD in Neuroscience from Cardiff University, where he now teaches at the Centre for Medical Education.

Burnett is best known for his satirical science column "Brain Flapping" in The Guardian and his debut book "The Idiot Brain." He combines his scientific background with comedy, having started stand-up in 2004.

Burnett's writing style blends humor with science, making complex topics accessible to general audiences.

He grew up in a working-class mining village, which he credits for his strong Welsh accent.
