Dreda Say Mitchell

Dreda Say Mitchell is an acclaimed British author and campaigner.

She was appointed MBE in 2020 and won the CWA's John Creasey Dagger in 2004, becoming the first Black British author to receive this honor.

Mitchell co-writes with Ryan Carter, producing bestselling psychological thrillers and crime novels.

She is a passionate advocate for social issues and the arts, frequently appearing on television and radio programs.

Born and raised in London's East End, Mitchell has Grenadian heritage.

She has chaired the Theakston Harrogate Crime Fiction Festival and was named one of Britain's 50 Remarkable Women by Lady Geek in association with Nokia.
