Edward G. Dobson

Edward G. Dobson was a pastor emeritus at Calvary Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

He served as an advisory editor for Christianity Today and a consulting editor for Leadership.

Dobson held a doctorate from the University of Virginia and was named "Pastor of the Year" by Moody Bible Institute.

He authored numerous books, including "Prayers and Promises When Facing a Life-Threatening Illness." Originally from Northern Ireland, Dobson moved to the United States in 1964.

He lived with his family in Grand Rapids and battled ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) for many years before passing away in December 2015.

Dobson was known for his willingness to challenge traditional evangelical views and explore different faith traditions.
