Enid Blyton

Enid Mary Blyton was a prolific English children's author who wrote approximately 800 books over 40 years.

Born in 1897, she showed an early interest in reading and became a kindergarten teacher before turning to writing.

Blyton's works often featured adventure, mystery, or fantasy elements, with popular series including The Famous Five, Noddy, and The Secret Seven.

Despite criticism for dated content, her books remain widely read and translated.

Blyton married twice, had two daughters, and died in 1968.

Her enduring popularity is evidenced by her ranking as the fifth most popular author worldwide in 2007, according to the Index Translationum.
