Fae Myenne Ng is a first-generation Chinese American novelist and short story writer born in 1956 in San Francisco.
Her debut novel, Bone, explored the lives of three Chinese American daughters in San Francisco's Chinatown.
Ng's work has garnered numerous awards and residencies, including support from the American Academy of Arts & Letters and the National Endowment for the Arts.
The daughter of Chinese immigrants from Guangzhou, Ng studied at UC Berkeley and Columbia University.
Her short stories have appeared in various publications, and she currently teaches at UC Berkeley.
Ng's writing often draws from her personal experiences and cultural background.
