Giles Yeo

Giles Yeo MBE is a Principal Research Associate at MRC Metabolic Diseases Unit and Scientific Director of the Genomics/Transcriptomics Core at the University of Cambridge.

Born in London, he has lived in Singapore, San Francisco, and Cambridge.

Yeo holds a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from UC Berkeley and a PhD in Molecular Genetics from Cambridge.

His research focuses on obesity, brain control of body weight, and genetic influences on appetitive behavior.

Yeo has presented BBC documentaries and authored two books: "Gene Eating: The Story Of Human Appetite" and "Why Calories Don't Count." His work combines scientific expertise with public engagement, making complex topics accessible to a broader audience.
