Imbolo Mbue

Imbolo Mbue is a Cameroonian-American author who grew up in Limbe, Cameroon.

She moved to the United States over a decade ago and now resides in New York City.

Mbue holds a B.S. from Rutgers University and an M.A. from Columbia University.

Her debut novel, Behold the Dreamers, drew from her experiences as an immigrant in America.

The book was well-received, winning the PEN/Faulkner Award and being selected as an Oprah's Book Club pick.

Mbue's writing often explores themes of immigration, cultural identity, and the complexities of the American Dream through the lens of African immigrants.
