Jennifer Ryan grew up in the British countryside, inspired by her grandmother's stories of World War II. She worked as a nonfiction book editor for various publishers, including The Economist Books and BBC, focusing on topics like politics, health, and history.
Driven by a desire to share her grandmother's wartime experiences, Ryan pursued an MA in fiction at Johns Hopkins University.
Her debut novel, The Chilbury Ladies' Choir, became a National Bestseller.
Ryan continues to write historical fiction, drawing on her background in editing and her passion for wartime stories.
