Joe Abercrombie
Joe Abercrombie is a British fantasy author born in Lancaster, England.
He studied psychology at Manchester University before working in television production and as a freelance film editor.
Abercrombie began writing The Blade Itself in 2002 during a break between jobs, completing it in 2004.
The novel was published in 2006 as the first installment of The First Law trilogy.
He has since become a prominent figure in the fantasy genre, known for his gritty, character-driven stories.
Abercrombie lives in London with his wife and daughter and has contributed to various literary projects, including the BBC Worlds of Fantasy series alongside other renowned authors.
