John Roswell Camp , known by his pen name John Sandford, was born in 1944 in Iowa.
He began his career as a journalist, winning a Pulitzer Prize in 1986 for his reporting on the Midwest farm crisis.
Sandford transitioned to writing thriller novels in 1990, creating the popular Lucas Davenport series.
Beyond writing, he is passionate about archaeology, art, and photography.
He has supported a major archaeological project in Israel and has authored non-fiction books on plastic surgery and art.
Sandford's personal life includes two children and a grandson, and he experienced the loss of his wife to cancer in 2007.
