Sir Kazuo Ishiguro is a British novelist of Japanese origin, born in 1954.
He moved to England in 1960 and became a British citizen in 1982.
Ishiguro studied creative writing at the University of East Anglia and has since published several acclaimed novels.
His works often explore themes of memory, time, and self-deception.
Ishiguro's most famous novels include "The Remains of the Day" and "Never Let Me Go," both of which were shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize.
He has received numerous literary awards, including the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2017.
The Swedish Academy praised his novels for their "great emotional force" and ability to uncover the abyss beneath our sense of connection with the world.
