Lee Child
Lee Child was born in 1954 in Coventry, England.
After a career in television, he was fired at age 40 and decided to write his first novel, Killing Floor.
The book's success launched the Jack Reacher series, which has grown in popularity with each installment.
Child splits his time between Manhattan and the south of France, and enjoys reading, music, and sports.
He is known for his tall, slim stature and refusal to exercise despite an unhealthy diet.
Child's writing has garnered a dedicated fanbase and led to a film adaptation starring Tom Cruise.
