Lisa Appignanesi

Lisa Appignanesi , born Elżbieta Borensztejn in 1946 in Poland, is an accomplished writer and cultural commentator.

She immigrated to Canada as a child and later studied at McGill University.

Appignanesi has had a diverse career, including roles at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London and as President of English PEN. She has written numerous books and produced television films.

Recognized for her contributions to literature, she received the Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from the French government.
