Louis Sachar
Louis Sachar is an American author known for his popular children's books.
Born in 1954 in New York, he later moved to California and studied economics at UC Berkeley.
Sachar wrote his first book, "Sideways Stories from Wayside School," while working at a sweater warehouse.
He later attended law school and practiced law part-time while continuing to write.
His wife, Carla, inspired the counselor character in "There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom." Sachar's success as an author eventually allowed him to quit practicing law and focus on writing full-time.
His ability to create engaging stories for young readers has made him a respected figure in children's literature.
