Michaela DePrince was born in Sierra Leone during its civil war.
Orphaned and mistreated due to vitiligo, she found hope in a magazine photo of a ballerina.
Adopted by an American family, Michaela pursued ballet passionately, overcoming racial barriers and stereotypes.
She trained at prestigious schools and was featured in the documentary "First Position." Michaela has danced professionally with various companies, including the Dutch National Ballet.
Beyond dancing, she is dedicated to inspiring disadvantaged youth with her message of perseverance and hope.
