Nando Parrado is one of the survivors of the 1972 Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 crash in the Andes.
He co-authored "Miracle in the Andes" in 2006, providing a first-hand account of the 72-day ordeal.
Parrado was instrumental in the rescue, being one of two survivors who hiked out of the mountains to seek help.
