Padmasambhava
Padmasambhava , the legendary 8th-century Buddhist master, is credited with authoring The Tibetan Book of the Dead.
Born miraculously in a lotus flower, he gained fame for his ability to memorize esoteric texts instantly.
Invited to Tibet by King Trisong Detsen, Padmasambhava subdued evil deities and established the country's first monastery.
He is associated with the introduction of Tantric Buddhism to Tibet and Bhutan.
According to tradition, Padmasambhava hid many spiritual treasures, including the Bardo Thodol, which were later discovered by tertons.
