Paul R. Martin is a Cambridge University graduate with a PhD in behavioural biology.
He also studied at Stanford University as a Harkness Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Sciences.
Martin had a career in academia, lecturing and researching behavioural biology at Cambridge University and serving as a Fellow of Wolfson College.
He later left academia to pursue other interests, including science writing.
Martin has authored several books focusing on the pleasure aspects of behaviour and life, such as sleep, happiness, and food, as well as writing about mental illness.
