Richard Tarnas

Richard Theodore Tarnas is a cultural historian and professor of philosophy and psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies.

Born in 1950, he is best known for his influential books on Western thought and cosmology.

Tarnas's work explores the development of ideas that have shaped Western civilization, as well as the potential for new paradigms in understanding the relationship between human consciousness and the cosmos.
