Robin I.M. Dunbar
Born in 1947
Robin Ian MacDonald Dunbar is a renowned British anthropologist and evolutionary psychologist specializing in primate behavior.
He has held prestigious academic positions at the University of Bristol, Cambridge, University College London, and Liverpool.
Currently, he serves as the Director of the Institute of Cognitive and Evolutionary Anthropology at the University of Oxford.
Dunbar is best known for his research on the relationship between brain size and social group size in primates, which led to the concept of "Dunbar's number" - the cognitive limit to the number of individuals with whom one can maintain stable social relationships.
His work has significantly contributed to our understanding of human social evolution and behavior.
