  • Sogyal Rinpoche was a Tibetan Buddhist teacher born in 1947-8 and recognized as the incarnation of Tertön Sogyal Lerab Lingpa.

  • Raised by Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö, he went into exile during the Chinese occupation of Tibet.

  • After studying in India and England, he began teaching in the West in 1974.

  • Rinpoche founded Rigpa, a global network of Buddhist centers, and became known for his teachings on The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying.

  • He aimed to bring Buddhist wisdom to Western audiences and was sought after as a speaker at international conferences.

  • Rinpoche traveled extensively, teaching in Europe, North America, Australia, and Asia.
