Teesta Setalvad

Teesta Setalvad is an Indian civil rights activist, journalist, and author.

Born into a privileged family with a notable legal background, she became a prominent voice against religious violence and discrimination in India.

Setalvad co-founded the magazine Communalism Combat and the organization Citizens for Justice and Peace.

She is best known for her relentless pursuit of justice for victims of the 2002 Gujarat riots, often facing legal challenges and intimidation from authorities.
