Theodore R. Sizer

Theodore R. Sizer was a prominent figure in education reform.

He earned degrees from Yale and Harvard, served as Dean at Harvard's Graduate School of Education, and was headmaster at Phillips Academy.

Sizer authored the well-received "Horace" trilogy on American high schools and initiated the Coalition of Essential Schools.

His wife, Nancy Faust Sizer, was also an educator with over 30 years of experience in private and public schools, as well as teaching at Brown and Harvard Universities.

Together, they wrote "The Students are Watching," drawing on their extensive experience to address school culture and moral education.
