Thomas Runge Martin is an American historian specializing in Greco-Roman history.
He holds the Jeremiah O'Connor chair in Classics at the College of the Holy Cross, teaching courses on Athenian democracy, Hellenism, and the Roman Empire.
Martin's research focuses on ancient Greece and Rome, as well as numismatics.
He has authored and co-authored several publications, including "Sovereignty and Coinage in Classical Greece" and "Ancient Greece: From Prehistoric to Hellenistic Times." Martin's work extends to comparative history, as evidenced by his book on Herodotus and Sima Qian.
He resides in Sutton, Massachusetts, with his wife, and has two children.
