Yuen Yuen Ang
Yuen Yuen Ang is an associate professor of political science at the University of Michigan, specializing in development as a non-linear, adaptive process with a focus on China.
Her research challenges conventional assumptions about institutional standards in development.
Ang's book "How China Escaped the Poverty Trap" received the 2017 Peter Katzenstein Book Prize and was recognized by Foreign Affairs.
She has been supported by various foundations and served on the UN Expert Group on Eradicating Poverty.
A Singapore native, Ang holds a PhD from Stanford University and is involved in advisory roles for academic publications on development politics.
